Stellar Demise
A lone star, decorating the night sky,
I, under pressure, burn ever so bright.
Isolated in space, I unheard cry.
Despite my pain, they see only my light.
Collapsing under my own gravity,
In my bruised heart, my heaviest parts fuse,
Briefly staving off my calamity.
There's only so much I'm able to lose.
Since always, my character I eject;
My stellar core blazing ever hotter.
I, dying, detect my deadly defect;
My stability begins to totter.
With less and less of me to bear this load,
Inevitably, I will soon explode.
